We are glad to announce the safe arrival of the South African Home Group, as we welcome them to Face to Face|Faith to Faith, Holmes New York. As the first group to arrive they were full of energy and eager to explore the new environment. After a good shower and settling down, there was time to create their own name bracelets while waiting for the others to arrive.

By cabin time that night everyone had arrived! With a new bed in a shared space with participants from every region, some were a bit nervous while others were excited to make new friends.
We woke on Monday morning to the call of ‘PEACE POLE!’ This is a morning and evening tradition to gather the group, play a game and share an inspirational quote for the day. Tots from South Africa read out the quote for Girls Cabin C – “Today you are You that is truer that true. There is no-one alive who is Youer than You!” Dr Seuss.

The day began with an activity called the 'F2F Challenge', where they were given clues around camp with various team building tasks to do at each station. We also played trust building games and other ice breakers, allowing participants to mingle and get to know each other.

In the evening, all participants were divided into their faith groups; Christianity, Islam, Judaism and the Believe-it-or-Not group. In these groups they discussed their faith needs as well as coming up with questions for the other groups. This will be used as each group plans a presentation about their faith.
We would like to say a huge thank you to Coco Putuma for bringing the group here safely. Our staff team is complete and we are really looking forward to the next 2 weeks and an amazing experience!
